Jonathan Dickon Reppucci

Welcome to Reppucci Law Firm. Jonathan Reppucci is the principal and founding member of the Firm and is widely regarded as one of the preeminent criminal appellate and post-conviction attorneys in Colorado. Jonathan’s practice focuses mostly on appellate, post-conviction, and federal habeas litigation with an emphasis on overturning wrongful convictions and advocating for the liberty interests of incarcerated individuals. Jonathan has more than twenty-five years of experience in criminal defense, including complex litigation and representation in state and federal courts in serious cases. He has handled and been involved in some of the most difficult and highest profile criminal cases in the state. He defends clients facing a broad array of charges, from driving under the influence, domestic violence, theft, fraud, drug possession and distribution to robbery, sexual assault, organized crime, and homicide, as well as those facing the death penalty or life in prison. Jonathan also frequently collaborates with other criminal and civil rights attorneys to assist their pretrial motions and appellate practices.

Jonathan has zealously and effectively represented clients in more than a hundred appeals and postconviction proceedings. He has had regular success in Colorado’s district courts, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, and in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, as well as the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His work over the past twenty-five years has resulted in nearly fifty published appellate cases and many more unpublished decisions. Jonathan has also been qualified as a defense expert in the field of criminal appellate practice in the state courts.

In 1993, Jonathan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in psychology. In 1998, he received his law degree from the University of Virginia, one of the most prestigious law schools in America. He then clerked for a Chief Judge in Colorado’s Twentieth Judicial District and worked in civil defense before refocusing on criminal defense. Since 2002, Jonathan has dedicated his practice to providing expert legal representation in criminal defense and civil rights cases. His approach combines legal expertise with thoroughness and compassion, ensuring each client receives personalized support and advocacy. In 2007, Jonathan received the esteemed Gideon Award from the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB), honoring him for his commitment to the service of indigent defendants, the CCDB, and the community, for his unwavering dedication to criminal defense, and for his regular participation in policy and legislative activities that benefit the criminal defense bar.


Jonathan is admitted to practice law in Colorado, the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the Tenth Circuit’s Criminal Justice Act Panel, the CCDB, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is the former editor of the CCDB’s quarterly publication The Rapsheet and has served as a member of the CCDB’s Policy Committee and its Amicus Subcommittee. He has also authored several vitally important amicus curiae briefs in the Colorado Supreme Court on behalf of criminal defense organizations.
